A PLACE WITH A STORY
Nestled along the peaceful coast of Marawila, Sanmali has been welcoming guests for decades. Built on a stretch of beautiful coconut land, our hotel was among the first to open in the area, becoming part of Marawila's story and its growing connection with travellers from around the world.
What began as a simple coastal retreat has grown into a place where generations of guests have come to relax, celebrate, reconnect, and create lasting memories.

Located in a quiet fishing village, Sanmali offers a slower side of Sri Lanka. Just 29 kilometres from Bandaranaike International Airport, our beachfront setting brings together the natural beauty of the coast with the warmth and character of local life.
Surrounded by coconut trees, gardens and the sound of the ocean, Sanmali was created for those looking to step away from the everyday and enjoy a more peaceful pace.

Today, our 20 air conditioned beachfront rooms offer a comfortable base from which to enjoy the coast. Guests can spend their days by the swimming pool, wander through our gardens or discover a sense of wellbeing at our Ayurveda Treatment Center.
But beyond the facilities, Sanmali is about atmosphere. It is about quiet mornings, warm hospitality, ocean breezes and the simple pleasure of having time to yourself.
